Biography

 



Rebecca's undergraduate degree is from Marquette University with a major in Psychology and a minor in French.  As an undergraduate research assistant under John Grych, PhD, she completed and defended a voluntary senior thesis on the effects of marital conflict on children and their self-esteem.

She completed her Master's degree from Loyola University in Counseling Psychology.  Her Master's thesis was on exploring self-efficacy in children from low-income homes.  Her practicum was completed at Community Counseling Centers of Chicago (C4) under the late, Dr. Max Anadon.

Her experience includes working with therapeutic-level foster children, adolescents, couples, families and adults.  She is the former Child & Family Program Coordinator at Wellness Place where she created a program for children and families touched by cancer.  She has experience working with people facing serious illness, chronic pain, women's issues, parenting, anxiety, and depression.  Her training experiences include the Chicago Center for Family Health, the Rehabilitation Institute of Chicago, as well as ACT training under Steven Hayes, PhD and trauma training under Bessel van der Kolk, MD.

Currently, Rebecca works with individuals, families, children, teens, couples and groups on a variety of topics including parenting, anxiety, school issues, divorce, illness, chronic pain, and stress.  She conducts workshops on topics such as stress management, meditation, and mindfulness. 

In her spare time, Rebecca enjoys the outdoors, relishes playing with her children, and is still trying to figure out how to cook with phyllo dough.
